YES, IT IS POSSIBLE TO FILM OR TO PHOTOGRAPHY YOUR WEDDING WITHOUT "POSE"...

<< The Video Reports and Photo are the MOST IMPORTANT elements of your event; there are THE MEMORY. You will not wear any more this magnificent dress quite as this suit. In contrario, there will be an album photo and your happiness, your laughter and the other feelings recorded FOR EVER on a HIGH RESOLUTION DVD or BLU-RAY DISC or the other support.
I like the reality with its laughter and its tears. It's life. I always found poignant these photographers and these directors who did not still understand that a Wedding movie or a photographies album has to reflect the reality. A Wedding is not a fiction. It is not "Hollywood".
Also, most of them claim to have a "journalistic approach". It is false. Most make pose or stage. I am journalist. I have never seen one of my colleagues making pose on an event. So much for me.
I think that a Wedding must be filmed or photographed without ever interfering on its progress. It belongs to the video director or to the photographer to adapt himself to your event.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO POSE FOR US. It is your DAY. Not our. There is no emotion in a look "congealed" in a given order.
My presence is discreet, transparent. You have to forget totally our presence. It is necessary to know how to keep in the "backround", to keep silent for capturing these unexpected dialogues. I would not make you pose. I OFFER YOU the film of your Wedding if I make you pose it would be only once. However, I shall capture every moment lived by you. I like stable shots, wide shots ; those who give time to the look, time to time, time to the emotion.
Afterward, I would edit personally your movie. Henceforth, everybody edits the same type of movie with the same effects : multiple slow motions, effects with abundance, colorization, audio dubbing everywhere, etc. It is "Avatar" (1).
The numerous special effects on a Wedding movie are not a proof of imagination. There are, on the contrary, the proof that the director was incapable to seize the emotion of the event with its details. It is the details which make the difference.
A director or a photographer has to have his own writing and not reproduce what he sees in the cinema. Our challenge is of reproduced the reality of your event with all the emotion which you lived. Did you walk in "slow motion" the day of your Wedding ? Did the sky was in Sepia color or in Black and White ? Have you already seen a Sean Penn's movie ? a Robert Bresson's movie ? a Raymond Depardon's movie ? a Seiji Ozu's movie ? They know how to retranscribe the reality with emotion.
My movies contain very few effects. Just some transitions where it is necessary and credits, possible thanks, etc.. The audio dubbing is discreet too. It is important to keep the atmosphere of the event.
Your movie has to be the reflection of what was your event. With emotion. No more, no less...
Do not hesitate to ask me for a DVD of one of my realizations, I would send it to you with pleasure...
To conclude, I invite you to read the opinions of my clients on my Wedding movies.
Best regards

Pier-Yves Menkhoff

(1) I like the film "Avatar". However, a fiction is a fiction, a wedding is not a fiction...
